Recreational Coaches Workshop
This adult event is being held at Laguna Creek Racquet Club in Elk Grove. Anyone interested in learning the basics of coaching and teaching tennis or seeking a refresher on more current methods and effective tools should attend.

Taught by a specially trained certified teaching professional, this active 6 hour session covers:

• Games and drills every coach should know
• The games-based approach to coaching
• Teaching large groups
• Running effective team practices

Must be pre-registered, pre-paid to attend. Tuition: $55 till February 25th, 2009. Lunch included.

League begins April 2009
Pleasant Grove Junior Team Tennis League
Never played tennis before? Are you between the ages of 8-14? This league is for you. Co-ed team based play with shorter racquets, shorter courts and larger balls. The Pleasant Grove Junior Team Tennis League will begin in April 2009 at Pleasant Grove High School. This league will be for youth ages 8-14 and will use a QuickStart tennis format. We are also looking for volunteers for this new novice youth league.

American River Junior Team Tennis League

The American River Junior Team Tennis League will begin in April 2009 at Gold River Racquet Club. This league will be for youth ages 8-14 and will use a QuickStart tennis format. SAP Open at the HP Pavilion
The SAP Open will be played for the 121st year at the HP Pavilion in San Jose on Monday, February 9 through Sunday, February 15, 2009. It is the second oldest men’s professional tennis tournament in the United States. Started in 1889 at Old Del Monte Lodge in Monterey, CA. This tournament predates the French Open, Italian Open and Australian Open.
