Two New Junior Team Tennis Leagues coming this Fall!

By Staff

Sacramen to Community Tennis Association (SCTA) is a non-profit organization established in 1999 to promote and develop the growth of junior tennis in the city of Sacramento. The organization was formed by avid tennis players, tennis pros, tennis volunteers and parents, among others. SCTA's Junior Team Tennis Leagues are volunteer based just like the little league concepts in soccer and flag football.
Our Junior Team Tennis Leagues will be a new program for kids 8–16 years of age. This tennis program will be using the Quick Start Tennis format to help kids play the game. To make it easier for them, we've changed a few things. Smaller court size. Smaller racquets and larger balls made of foam! The scoring system and even the net height. The changes work, too. Because now any child can start playing tennis almost immediately- even if he or she has never picked up a racquet before. And just like other popular youth sports, QuickStart Tennis stresses the importance of play and team competition. This means that even more kids will have the opportunity to experience this new format, have fun playing with their friends and develop skills that will become the foundation of their game.

We are currently starting two new Fall leagues in Shingle Springs and in Gold River. SCTA needs the help and skills of tennis enthusiasts and people in the community. Please contact SCTA if you would like to become a part of our volunteer family and help grow the game of tennis in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado and Yolo counties.
